The technician should be assigned to the operations in order to start the work on them. The technician can be assigned either to the line or labor operation(s) depending on the specific requirements of the repair.

Assign the technician to the whole line, if only one technician will be working on all the labor operations of the line. Assign the technician to the labor operation to more precisely distribute the work on the line between technicians. This option is useful in case there are many labor operations created on this line in the Post Charges module of the FUEL Service Department software and most of them have no technician assigned.

Important: It is not possible to assign the technician to the line with the Finished status in the FUEL Service Department software.

Use the following steps to assign technician to the line in the FUEL Service software:

1. On the Dispatch window select the necessary line or lines of the repair order using the CTRL and SHIFT keys of the keyboard.
2. Select RO Line / Assign Technician or click the Assign Tech button at the right side of the window. The Assign Technician window appears.
3. Enter the number of the technician manually or click the button to search for the technician if necessary.
4. Click the Assign button.

Note: In case there are multiple labor operations on the line:

• the FUEL Service Department software automatically assigns the technician to all the labor operations of the selected line that do not have technicians assigned.
• if all the labor operations of the line have technicians assigned, the technician is assigned to the last labor operation of the line.

The technicians that are assigned to the lines can be viewed in the Technician column of the lines grid of the Dispatch window of the FUEL Service and Repair software. One or more technicians can be assigned to the line. If there is only one technician assigned to the line, his number is displayed in the Technician column. If there are several technicians assigned to the line, <Multi> is displayed.
