FINISH THE WORK ON THE LINE in Fuel service department software
When the job on the line is completed by technicians, the line should be finished to show that it does not need more work and that charges can be booked on it in the Post Charges module of the FUEL Service Department software.

Usually the line is finished when it has the Working status and the FUEL Service Department software recorded actual hours for it and its technician. But the FUEL Service software also allows you to finish the lines with the Opened, Assigned and Hold statuses. It is sometimes necessary when the time and charges for the repair order are modified in the Post Charges module of the FUEL Service Department software.

The requirement of the FUEL Service and Repair software is that the line which is finished should have the technician assigned. The line can be finished either from the Line Details or from the Dispatch window.

Use the following steps to finish the work of the repair order line from the Dispatch window of the FUEL Service Department software:

  1. Select the necessary line of the repair order on the Dispatch window. Select several lines using the CTRL and SHIFT keys of the keyboard if necessary.
  2. Select RO Line / Finish line from the menu or click the Finish button.

  • If the line has no actual hours calculated (the Actual field is blank), the No work was done to line. Do you want to finish it anyway? message appears. Click the Yes button to finish the line with no actual hours calculated. Click the No button to leave the status of the line unchanged.
  • If the line has no technician assigned, the Complete Line window appears, where the technician number should be specified. Click the Finish button to finish the line. Click the Cancel button to leave the status of the line unchanged. If several lines were selected, the confirmation messages will appear for each line.

  1. The line receives the Finished status.

When all the lines of the repair order have the Finished status, the repair order receives the Ready to Post status - the repair order charges can be posted in the Post Charges module of the FUEL Service Department software.

If the finished line needs more work, use the open line option to open it and continue the work on it.
