Put the technician to work on the line, in case it is not important on which labor operation the technician starts working: he is put to work on the first labor operation of the line to which he is assigned and on which the work was not started. If it is necessary to start the work on a specific labor operation, put the technician to work on the labor operation.
Important:
- Only the line with the Assigned status can be put to work in the FUEL Service Department software. If the line has the Opened status, first assign a technician to it. If the line has either Hold or Finished status, first open the line in the FUEL Service Department software.
- If the repair order has the Veh. disabled status, you will not be able to start the work on it. For more information refer to the Repair order statuses in FUEL Service Department software page.
Use the following steps to start the work on the line in the FUEL Service and Repair software:
- Select the necessary line of the repair order from the lines grid on the Dispatch window.
- Select RO Line / Put technician to work on the menu or click the Put to Work button on the Dispatch window.
- If the line has only one available technician assigned, he is put to work automatically, the line status becomes Working and the repair order receives the AVL / Working status in the FUEL Service Department software.
- If the line has multiple technicians assigned, the Put Technician to Work window appears where all the technicians assigned to the current line are shown. Select the technician and click the Assign button. If the technician has the Available status, he is put to work on the current line. If the technician is already working on another line or repair order and has the Working status, he cannot be put to work on the current line, and the Work button is grayed out for him.
- If the technician that you are trying to put to work is currently working on another line or repair order, the Technician cannot start work, because he is already working message appears. In this case you can either assign another technician to the line or partially finish the work of the technician on another line.
- When the technician assigned has one of the following statuses: Not available, On break, Complete day, On holiday, Is late, Personal time off, Sick, Training, Unavailable, Vacation in the FUEL Service Department software, he cannot be put to work, the following message appears: Technician cannot start working because he has the <name> status. You should first make the current technician available in the FUEL Service Department softwareby clocking him in.
- If the line has the Working status and the Put to Work button is clicked, the Line has already got the Working status message appears.
